On the occasion of GemGenève 2025, the presentation of our conference on Colombian emeralds and the launch of the new issue of Collectissim Magazine were well received. A highlight made possible by the energy of the show, the enthusiastic public and a great collaboration with Geoffray Riondet.
A conference built around two voices
As part of a rich program of lectures, we were honoured to present “On the road to Colombian emerald: from pre-Columbian mining to the rediscovery of the Chivor mines”, a two-part talk with Geoffray Riondet.
For 45 minutes, we traced the history of Colombian emeralds: from their ritual importance to pre-Columbian peoples, through the trade routes to the Mughal Empire, to the great mining discoveries of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The audience – curious, attentive and engaged – treated us to a lively exchange at the end of the session, which we’ll remember for a long time to come.
A successful launch for the new issue of Collectissim Magazine
The conference also marked the launch of the sixth issue of Collectissim Magazine, devoted entirely to Colombian emerald. The issue was conceived as an in-depth dossier, with historical and gemological articles, portraits, exclusive interviews and a map of current mines.
The presentation on the stand of Letu Bookshop, a loyal partner of the magazine, provided an opportunity to meet readers, professionals and collectors. Thanks to everyone for their presence, feedback and encouragement.
A huge thank you to the GemGenève team
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the entire GemGenève team, for their confidence, their support and the space offered to demanding cultural content.
The show continues to establish itself as a unique event in the international calendar, thanks to its selection, conviviality and emphasis on the transmission of knowledge.
